This 3-Bedroom plus den condo has a great location that is a short, easy walk to and from the ski slopes. With lots of beds, a large living and dining room area, it is perfect for an economical family getaway! It has affordable prices, a bedding setup that will accommodate any family group, comfortable furniture, a heated pool, hot tub, and free WiFi, all in a location that is an easy walk to the ski slopes, free bus stop, base area activities, restaurants, shops, even a small grocery store.
When you walk into the ground level entry, there is a nice bench where you can relax and remove your boots or shoes and a mirror so you can check your appearance as you head out. The entry also has a big coat closet and a storage room that is ideal for skis, snowboards, or even bikes. As you proceed into the property you'll pass the bunk bedroom and main level bathroom before you enter the very large open concept kitchen, living, and dining room area. The kitchen is nicely renovated and fully equipped including all the standard stuff plus extras such as the crock-pot, which is ideal for coming home to a warm meal after some time on the slopes. The kitchen has a bar with seating for 4 so that you can serve up meals or keep your chef company. Above the bar are double sided glass cabinets which make setting the dining table very convenient. There are a few steps down to the living and dining room area, which give this room extra high ceilings and a spacious feel. There is plenty of comfy furniture for relaxing after a day of adventure and enough seating to gather your whole group together in one place. The furniture includes a sleeper sofa and was newly added in 2016. There's also a nicely updated built in entertainment center which features slate tile around the fireplace and decorative shelving around the HDTV, which swivels to give you the perfect angle whether in the living area, dining area, or kitchen. The living and dining room each have sliding glass doors to the covered deck, where you'll be able to take in lovely views of the Yampa Valley, including views to the south and west for our beautiful sunsets!
Head downstairs to the lower level of the condo, and you'll find 3 bedroom areas, 2 bathrooms, and laundry. The first two lower level bedrooms each feature a Queen bed, TV, large closet, and access to the covered patio and grassy lawn. The den or 4th bedroom is a private space with no closets or windows / secondary egress, but it does have 1 Queen bed, 1 Futon, and an HDTV. New photos of this room are coming in spring/summer 2024. This room is pitch black when you turn out the lights, and quiet, an ideal place for anyone who likes to sleep in on their vacation. The two lower level bathrooms as well as the upper level bathroom are all open to the hallway, providing good flexibility for larger groups. The laundry room has full size top loading washer and dryer, so you can pack lightly if you like.
The relatively low prices and great location make this property a great option for groups that want to save a some money while also having a very convenient location. The location really is great. From your front door, it's a short, easy walk of about 200 yards to the edge of the "Stampede" ski trail, which is a beginner level trail. The slope is so gentle that you could walk up and down this trail. If you head downhill on the Stampede trail, or by walking down Apres Ski Way, the ski school, ticket office, the Gondola, the Christie Peak Express chair lift, groceries, shops, and restaurants are only a few hundred yards from your ski in ski out access point. Once you're at the Gondola, you'll find the heated promenade that wraps around the base area makes walking anywhere in the base area pretty easy.
Summer guests will really love this location too. Not only do the ski trails transform into hiking and biking trails, but there are so many other attractions and activities to enjoy. Burgess Creek flows right through the base area at a controlled water level, which is gentle. There are beaches chairs and loads of places for kids to splash about or for adults to relax with a beverage. There is a gravity powered roller coaster called "The Outlaw" which is open in ski season as well as in the summer. Other summer activities in Gondola Square include rock climbing, mini golf, a high ropes course, summer tubing, and of course, Gondola rides! Plus, this area is host to free concerts, outdoor movies on the mountain, evening hot air balloon glows, art shows, race events, on top of a nice selection of restaurants and shops. All of this a nice pleasant downhill stroll from your condo!
If you are heading downtown, or don't feel like walking a bit uphill to your condo, you can take advantage of Steamboat's free year round shuttle bus services. They pick up and drops off only about 225 yards from your door, very close to the ski in ski out access point you'll be using. You might feel a bit silly using the bus to get back home from the base area, since it's so close, but hey, you're on vacation, and hopefully you're using your energy for fun activities like hiking or skiing! The free city bus will get you to and from the big grocery stores, the many shops, restaurants, parks and attractions of downtown, pretty much anywhere in town.

Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary.
